General Questions
Q: Where is the Early Childhood Family Resource Centre of Westmorland-Albert located?
A: Our main Centre is located at 86 Ste-Therese St. in Dieppe, NB. Our outreach locations are in Salisbury, Hillsborough, Petitcodiac, Moncton, and Dieppe. We hope to offer programming again soon in Shediac and Cap-Pele.

Q: Who can come to the centre?
A: We serve expecting parents and families/ caregivers/grandparents with children up to the age of 6 years. We have a special focus on vulnerable families, which can include low-income or isolated families, who also may be affected by homelessness, food insecurity, unemployment, mental health challenges and/or have limited access to transportation and cultural resources.

Q: What are your opening hours?
A: We are open Monday - Thursday from 9 am - 4 pm and Friday from 9 am - 12 pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
NOTE: The Centre follows the same schedule as schools in the region. This means we are closed when schools are closed, such as during March Break, Summer Break, Holiday / New Year Break., Federal and Provincial Holidays, and storm closures.

Q: Is there a cost to join the programs and activities?
A: All of our programs and activities are free of charge, with the exception of our annual Zoo and Apple Picking Outings. We can offer financial support to those who may need it to alleviate the cost of those specific activities

Q: How do I register for a program and/or activity?
A: This can be done in 3 easy steps!

For new families/participants, we require you to fill out our registration form by calling the Centre (506-384-7874) or filling out the form on your first visit.

Once you're registered with us, you can find our calendar of activities directly on our website or on our social media (Facebook).

Choose which activity you'd like to register for, then give us a call at the Centre to confirm your spot for the activity or program:

Q: I cannot get to the program and/or activity. Is there funding to help with transportation?
A: Yes, there is! We can offer free bus passes to and from our programs for those who may need them.
​
Q: Do I need to stay with my child(ren) during a program or activity? Can I drop them off?
A: Our programs and activities require the parent/ guardian and/or grandparent to stay present with the child while at the Centre and/or any of our Outreach Sites

Q: I love what you guys do and would love to get involved! How can I volunteer at the Centre?
A: This is great! We are always looking for volunteers to help us out here at the Centre. We typically seek volunteers in the following areas:

Q: How can I donate? What can we donate to help at the Centre?
A: This is great news and a great way to contribute to helping ensure we can continue to provide services. Donations typically accepted here at the Centre include:

Monetary donations (Charitable receipts provided) and/or Grocery/Gas Gift Certificates.

Prenatal Questions
Q: Do you offer prenatal programs for expecting parents?
A: Yes, we do!

Q: Are your prenatal programs offered in French?
A: Yes! We proudly offer all of our programs in both official languages (French and English).

Q: How long is the prenatal program offered for?
A: Each program or session may be a different length, depending on which one you choose.

Q: We just learned that we are expecting. When should I sign up for a prenatal program?
A: First of all, congratulations! You can join a prenatal class or session at any point once you find out you are expecting but recommend at the 20-week mark!
​
Q: Can my partner/family member/friend join me for the prenatal program?
A: ABSOLUTELY! You can bring along any support person who might benefit from the information shared in the program to support you along this journey!

Q: What's typically covered in your Prenatal Programs?
A: Classes cover pregnancy health and baby’s development, nutrition, exercise and wellness, childbirth (comfort measures, stages and medical interventions), breastfeeding, postpartum and newborn care, home safety (home hazards, car seat safety…) and more as needed.
Postnatal Questions
Q: Do you offer postnatal programs for new families?
A: Yes, we do! We offer a variety of Postnatal Programs including sessions about caring for yourself, breastfeeding, opportunities to connect with other families, opportunities to connect with other new parents and so much more.

Q: Are your postnatal programs offered in French?
A: Yes! We proudly offer all of our programs in both official languages (French and English).

Q: How long are the postnatal programs offered for?
A: Programs vary in length, depending on the needs of the group.

Q: Can my partner/family member/friend join me for the postnatal program?
A: ABSOLUTELY! You can bring along any support person who might benefit from the information shared in the program to support you on this journey.

Early Childhood Questions
Q: What types of programs and activities do you offer for children from birth to 6 years of age?
A: We offer a number of programs for you and your child, including:
