How to Talk So Kids Will Listen

Program description: This is a down to earth, respectful approach that helps families develop healthy relationships and best strategies for communication with their children. This program offers great opportunities to practice during the program with the group members and at home with your children through the week. You will love this program!

Positive Parenting

Program description:

The Positive Parenting Program is a helpful, practical approach to raising children that focuses on the positive. You will learn simple tips and routines that can make big differences to your family. You’ll be amazed how even a few small changes in what you say and do can work wonders.

Family and Stress

(Pre-registration is required)

Program description: This engaging 2-hour workshop will help parents better understand their own stress and to better manage situations at home with their family.  Even kids and very young children can experience stress, and it is important for parents to recognize it and help their children learn to deal with it, effectively.

Duration: 2 weeks - 2 hrs sessions weekly

Time: 6:30-8:30 PM

First Look at Positive Discipline

 Program description: Positive discipline is a non-violent and respectful approach, focused on solutions and on the principles of child development.  It is an approach to teaching that helps children succeed, giving them information, and supporting their growth.

Duration: 2 weeks - 2 hrs sessions weekly

Time: 6:30-8:30 PM

Facilitator: Trained Positive Discipline Everyday Parenting facilitator (PDEP)


Nobody’s Perfect

“There are no perfect parents, or perfect children or perfect people. We can only do our best, and we all need help once in a while”

Program description:

Nobody's Perfect is an educational and support program for parents with children aged five and under who are lone parents, young people, socially or geographically isolated, or are a low income family. This program is delivered in a group session where parents have the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding of their child's behavior and development.

Note: Healthy snacks and bus tickets are provided to participants. Child care is available upon request.

Duration: 6 weeks -2 hours sessions

Time: Daytime (9:30-11:30 AM) or evenings (6:30-8:30 PM)

Group size: Up to 10 participants
